Birmingham-Southern College's Information Technology dept. has taken down CampusNet for awhile pending the hurricane and the possibility of unstable power supply. For those who didn't know, CoYM.org and the other NAC websites are run off of servers that are part of CampusNet. That is why CoYM.org and the boards are inaccessible, as well as: www.bsc.edu, umcna.bsc.edu, webmail.bsc.edu, etc. Barring power outages, storm damage, or other such circumstances, the network is supposed to (tentatively) be restarted Friday, September 17, at around 12:00pm. Thanks.

new member.... with a poem [Sep. 9th, 2004|12:34 am]

[mood |calmeh, im good currently]
[music |"Drops of Jupiter"]

so, uh, HI!
i'm new member Rachel Crisson.
i went to Sumatanga Junior High II 2002, Senior High I 2003, and Senior High II 2004. not to mention other church trips when i was younger.

anyway, when i went this year to SH2, i wrote a poem about the candelight Communion Service they always have on friday night, and i thought this was a good place to share it. so, um. yeah. here ya go:

Walked out, single file, into the cool night
I was on such a spiritual high i thought my soul would take flight.
After being handed a candle and walking 'round the Chigger Bowl,
I knew no matter how many times i did this, it would never get old.
We then made a circle, to show our friendships would not end,
To show that our differences will not hender our love for God to blend.
I looked up, saw the stars and clouds that were in my sight,
Seemed like the Big Dipper took a scoop out of the night.
Then all around me, light started showing in each face
Once again, i looked away and gazed off into space
And all at once i knew that your grace was in this place.
The flames were then extinguished, but hearts still burned with fire
To remember that moment forever is my one desire.
We walked around, hugging, sharing small sentiments,
The love we felt for all is the thing that makes perfect sense.
